For the last quarter of this school year I was asked to make a form for a online community (not real of course, just practice!). My subject was a community for bi and gay people concerning the gay emancipation. The goals for this assignment is to learn the basic design elements of forms and how to use them properly. The result is a (big) report in Dutch with my results.

For this assignment I used a lot of theory from Luke Wroblewski, which where really handy! Luke is a professional concerning form design on the internet. Most people hate filling in forms, and Luke learns form designers how to make a form as efficient as possible so people don’t need to spend a lot of time on it.

At first I thought making forms was as boring as filling them in. But when I read a few articles and books I found it was pretty interesting! Especially when you read that changing one button can increase your customers number with 45% and revenue by $4.000.000.000! I learned a lot from this assignment like the path to completion and the tone of voice of a form. Al really interesting things that really can help a company!

Done this last week. Needed to do some card sorts with some people that fit into my target group (who have a garden that doesn’t take a lot of maintenance and that like to use it mostly to bathe in the sun and such). Found 3 people who wanted to help me, and made this document which took me a ridiculously long time to make! Feedback was good, I don’t think there was something wrong with it, so that’s good! Now I only need to make some wireframes for a website and I’m done with the assignment! Oh yeah, and of course a exam…

Q3 Assignment part 3

Made this for last Friday. Teacher seemed to be pretty happy with it, some little things that I need to change but that’s okay! Q3 Assignment part 2

For this quarter I have to make a rapport and a advice for a garden website. The first assignment was to do some research for this which contained: doing interviews, chosing a garden style and a user that fits with it, taking at least 50 pictures of objects that concerned the chosen garden and user that I chosen before. I finished that tonight. It was a lot of work, I can tell you that! The report took me about 5 hours to make, but including the interviews and picture making it took me about 9 hours! I just overdid it with 1 hour becuase the assignment paper said it should take about 8 hours.
